Regenerative Agriculture.

Simply put, regenerative agriculture seeks to leave the earth a little better than how we found it. The main components include using cover crops and green manure, crop rotation and diversification, minimal tillage or no-till farming, and composting and natural soil amendment.

Eden Share follows Certified Naturally Grown™ (CNG) and organic gardening practices to create regenerative garden plots that are free from chemicals, insecticides, and herbicides.

Certified Naturally Grown farms manage soil and water much like organic growers. Unlike certified organic, CNG is a non-governmental organization that relies on peer reviews rather than third-party farm inspections as an affordable alternative for small scale farms.

Regenerative practices lead to less pollution, less erosion, increased biodiversity, increased carbon sequestration, and healthier crops. Plants and trees sequester (store) carbon through absorbing CO2 through their leaves and bringing it down into the soil through their roots. Over 50% of a forest’s carbon is stored in the roots and soil below the ground.

Global climate change and our ability to decrease the carbon in our atmosphere has become critical to the health of our planet. By embracing regenerative and sustainable gardening, we contribute in a small way to improving the environment.
